After we left Death Valley, we went to Red Rock State Park. There’s a small campground there, first come first served.  We were luck enough to not only get a site for two nights but to get a really nice site with a level concrete pad and good picnic table. Site number 6, folks. That’s the one you want.

I’m all about looking at rocks, so this place really worked for me. My brain kept trying to turn the erosion-patterned rocks into ancient temples or some such.

Below, Camel Rock.

Isn’t this an amazing rock? It was about the size of a bowling ball. There was another one nearly like it sitting nearby.

The colors of the rocks were spectacular! Pairing the spectacular color with the spectacular erosion patterns made for some gorgeous viewing.
