Alaska 2022
Cruise on the Discovery Princess In our experience, all cruises are good cruises. This was a very good cruise. Our Cabin Since the Discovery Princess is a Royal Class ship, our very favorite cabin is available. I call this cabin “the big, fat mini-suite.” There are only four of these on the ships that have…
Red Cliffs National Conservation Area
We originally planned to stay at the little campground in Red Cliffs, but Bob became doubtful about how well the campsite would work for our RV. We were lucky enough to get reservations at Quail Creek RV, which is just down the road and under the freeway from Red Cliffs. We dodged a bullet there,…
Grand Canyon 2022
The trip from Oroville to our first destination, Quail Creek RV Park was uneventful. Which is how I like it. We do short travel days, so we spent two nights on the road before that. Our first overnight was at Whiskey Flats RV at Hawthorne, NV. Second night was at Beatty RV just north of…
Pacific Northwest April 2022
This cruise was the replacement for the one that was canceled in April of 2020. It’s one we’ve done before, and I like it a lot. It sails roundtrip from San Francisco and visits Astoria, OR; Seattle, WA, Vancouver, BC; and Victoria, BC. Let’s talk about Astoria. This is a small town that sits on…
Spring 2022 Safari to the Coast
Below are images and some nattering about our early April, 2022 camping trip. We went to Sunset Beach, near Watsonville, CA as the first stop. Below is the view out the back of our campsite – strawberry fields forever. Makes you want to sing about it, doesn’t it? The beach isn’t the greatest place to…
Coastal Cruise 2020
This was an unheard of short cruise for us. We’ve never done a really long one, but with one exception we’ve never done one less than a week. It was round trip San Francisco, so easy one for us to do. It went down the coast, stopping at San Diego and Ensenada. I booked this…
Teton National Park
We wanted to see moose, so we went South from Yellowstone to Teton National Park where we’d heard the moose hang out. We stayed at Gros Ventre Campground, and that was very nice. We totally got our moose-wish taken care of.
Yellowstone
We did an early morning wildlife tour to Lamar Valley in the yellow bus below. Isn’t that the cutest thing? Tour was great. We got to watch a big, black wolf for a long time through binoculars. Too far away to get a photo but it was a lot of fun watching him strutting around…
Glacier National Park
Glacier is astoundingly beautiful. Not sure what I was expecting, but Glacier exceeded whatever that expectation was. We got some rain there, but it was mostly nice weather. We stayed at Many Glacier Campground in this park. Getting to the campground took some patience, persistence, and sense of humor. There were plentiful potholes, many of…
