There is a concept known to all cats, from the tiniest house kitten to the largest tiger. That concept is, “If I fits, I sits.” What this means to the cat is that any kind of container that the cat can manage to sit in, even if most of the cat overflows the container, becomes a valid feline resting place. Flat objects, such as magazines or your clean shirt, are also always valid feline resting places. Exactly between your face and your computer screen is an especially valid place for sitting. They will sit in or on anything. Bonus points for style are given if the sitting object belongs to you and you don’t want them there.
