Really, why didn’t we? They’ve sold these little stove-top ovens for donkey’s years. I’ve looked at them, and nothing ever clicked. We bought one some time last year, and it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread.

It folds up flat, so it’s no problem to bring it. It easily unfolds when needed. Then it just sits there, on top of the camp stove, waiting for the stove to be lit and goodies to be inserted for baking.

Camping OvenI dearly love muffins, but I very rarely make them at home.  It always seems like a lot of hassle, baking muffins for just two people when we’re trying to get up and running with the day. But at camp – well, there’s no hurry there! So far, we’ve made berry muffins, raisin bran muffins and corn muffins. All were delicious.
