More About Sophie

I’m not sure if it’s possible to be a crazy cat lady if a person only has one cat, but it’s looking to me like I’m giving that a good try. Here I am again, afflicting the universe with yet another shot of stripey kitty.

This photo of Sophie was taken before we moved from San Jose, so it’s several months old. Still looks just like her, of course. What I like about it is the catitude. She clearly owns the space. That space is a sizeable chunk of my desk, but that’s my problem. That section was originally claimed by Sabby, and Sophie merely took over where Sabby left off. I could have left the soft cat-basket off the desk, but it’s a fact that it’s pretty daggone nice having a soft warm cat nailing down a corner of one’s work area.

And this is Sophie, seal lynx Balinese. This is Sophie at four weeks old, what I like to call “the bewildered jellybean…

but now we have a really sweet cat. Who knew? When she was young, it was like trying to coexist with a Tasmanian Devil. The years went by, and we noticed she was getting nicer. We thought she was up to something. Lulling us into a false sense of security. Running a long con. Now…
