Historically, we’ve never been museum people, but on this trip we changed our stance and enjoyed four nice ones. One was planned, and three were spur of the moment decided on during the trip.
Iowa Truck Museum
We were bucketing down the road, somewhere in a lot of Iowa when I looked at Google Map and saw the Iowa Truck Museum coming up shortly down the road. Bob like the idea, so we stopped there. It was a winner! “Truck museum” probably doesn’t sound too exciting or interesting, does it? I wouldn’t say it was exciting, but it was definitely interesting. I did my usual thing of taking waaaayyy too many photos. Below are a couple of my favorites.

Historic Auto Attractions
This was a great museum, with lots of other things as well as cars. The Historic Auto Attractions was a Harvest Hosts location in Roscoe, IL. Parking for the overnight stay was simple and good. It’s basically just a parking lot, but there was plenty of room and it was very quiet. The Flintstones car that’s the banner image for this page was there, along with many other equally interesting exhibits.
